Stamp Duty and How it Affects the Blackpool Market

Stamp Duty and How it Affects the Blackpool Market

Stamp duty changes came into place on the 1st of July 2021, with the winding down of the temporary Stamp Duty policies that were put in place by the government recently. How will this affect the Blackpool market?

Firstly it is worth bearing in mind the average sale price in Blackpool over the last 12 months was £143 003. Based on an average Property purchase in the area, you will not be affected by the stamp duty holiday (in normal instances you would have only paid Stamp Duty on the difference above £125 000 and your purchase price). It is worth bearing in mind until end of September any property completions upto the amount of £250 000 are also exempt from Stamp Duty.
