Having started in estate agency straight from college, I have now worked in the profession for over 40 years, in that time I established my own international sales and letting company which I ran for 22 years, during that time I qualified as a Chartered Building Surveyor through Manchester University and then studied further at Salford University gaining a Masters and PhD in Structural Engineer. After selling my business in 2014 I worked in Dubai before returning in 2016. At this time I was approached and asked to help establish a new on-line agent, after 2 years I decided the traditional high street is best and helped with smaller agents to establish their businesses. I recently joined Martin & Co in Widnes, this was an easy choice despite having several offers from other companies.
Having started as a negotiator, I worked my way through a long and successful career gaining a number of professional qualifications allowing me to offer a complete professional service. There is still no better feeling than handing over a set of keys to a buyer and seeing their smile at what is the beginning of a new life’s journey for them or receiving a call asking if I would please sell a house as I did such a good job for them several years before with their previous property but best of all being described as “my estate agent” not “Dave who worked at ….” After all this time I still take pride in my job
