Trinity Walk in Wakefield will establish a unique retail and leisure environment for the local community. The scheme will provide enhanced public spaces, as well as restaurants and bars, which will create a new focus for the city.

• The original ABC cinema which was closed in 1997 has been given a brand new lease of life and redevelopment will see it converted into flats

• Ings Road, most of the current Ings road shopping park will be demolished and redeveloped into a more “city centre like” shopping plaza will also see the current motorway like Ing Road re routed to leave an uncongested street

• Ridings Shopping Centre, the owners of the centre have announced that they are speeding several millions on revamping the aging city centre shopping mall.

• The Waterfront Wakefield, Development of the Old Fernandes brewery in Kirkgate, this development will see new retail and industrial units built alongside the Hepworth Gallery, an art gallery built to honour the designs of Barbara Hepworth

• Chantry Waters, adjacent to the development at Wakefield Waterside, is a regeneration of Calder Island with phase one of the Chantry Waters flats completed and phase two of office blocks under construction
