The Martin & Co office in Truro is a locally owned and managed business located on New Bridge Street in the city centre of Truro. We are well placed to service the needs of both landlords and tenants throughout the whole of Cornwall. As we are a lettings specialist you will benefit from a focused and dedicated level of service not always readily available elsewhere. We are a member of NALS (National Approved Lettings Scheme). This is a Government and RICS (Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors) backed industry accreditation scheme for lettings and management agents offering piece of mind to landlords and tenants in knowing that they are dealing with a firm which agrees to meet defined standards of customer service, together with having in place the necessary insurance to protect client’s money, plus a complaints procedure offering independent redress.
Our range of services available include Investment and Fully Managed to a Let Only service with all enquiries being dealt with in a prompt and professional manner. All our services include a variety of marketing activities, accompanied viewings and thorough professional referencing of all potential tenants.
We also provide a comprehensive service for Buy to Let investors, which includes advising on property rentals and presentation, arranging finance and taxation advice, preparing the property for lettings (including furnishings if required), snagging and keys handover, as well as letting and managing the tenancy.

Martin & Co Honoured as Best Letting Agency
Letting agency Martin & Co has just been awarded the UK’s “Best Letting Agent” at the Estate and Letting Agency Awards (or ESTAs) in London this week. The prestigious award was presented to Martin & Co’s Managing Director Ian Wilson by media personality and journalist Phil Spencer of Channel 4’s “Location, Location, Location”, who said “these awards are particularly special, and a true reflection of excellence in customer service as they are only awards in the industry which are voted for by the landlords and tenants themselves. They are not easily won, and require a letting agency to achieve a consistently high level of service to their clients over a 12 month period.” Over 30,000 questionnaires were sent out to customers across the UK. On receiving the award, Ian Wilson said “it is a privilege to win such an award, and it is a tribute to the hard work, dedication, and passion of our franchise owners and their staff. We aim only to recruit, and help our franchisees recruit, only the very best in the business – those who care about giving great service! In a property industry where many sales-based estate agents have recently forayed into lettings out of necessity, this award has clearly demonstrated that landlords and tenants prefer to work with a lettings specialist who will be around next year and the year after. I am especially pleased that it was our customers themselves who voted for us, and I’d like to thank all those who took the trouble by taking part in this independent survey.” This award comes only months after Martin & Co scooped a Franchisor of the Year award at the end of 2008
The dream team for 2009
Jacqui will be joining the specialist team of four, Gareth Glover (Owner), Wendy Glover (Owner), Sarah Thompson (Negotiator) and Sheri Williams (Administrator) pictured; and will go through the same rigorous comprehensive training all of the Martin & Co members of staff go through as expected by an organization that is accredited with Investors in People. Sheri previously from Millers has been in property administration for over four years and came from a strong legal background prior to that. Sarah formerly from Your Move has over three years experience and comes from a strong sales background. The training the staff receive well equips them for today’s current market, leaving landlords reassured that one of their biggest assets are in safe hands.
